Joanne Friday and Thich Nhat Hanh at Plum Village, France

“May you be happy, healthy, fearless and at peace.”

Joanne Friday was a Dharma teacher in the Tiep Hien Order, the Order of Interbeing, founded by her teacher, Buddhist monk and Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. For thirty years, Joanne built sanghas, led meditation retreats, and taught the Dharma for sanghas and groups throughout the Northeast United States and Canada. She lived in Rhode Island where she was the founder and guiding teacher for the seven sanghas which comprise the Rhode Island Community of Mindfulness.

Joanne felt that the Dharma was the greatest gift she has ever received, and that her greatest joy was to pass it on. It is in this spirit that her Dharma talks and teachings are offered here. The recordings collected here were made by Joanne while she was in the presence of her students, and include talks, guided meditations, videos, and writings.
