2-10-18 Sangha Update

Happy Valentine's Day!
Let's celebrate true love.
“In true love, you attain freedom.” ― Thich Nhat Hanh
“The object of your practice should first of all be yourself. Your love for the other, your ability to love another person, depends on your ability to love yourself.” ― Thich Nhat Hanh
Because if you do not understand this person, you cannot love properly. Understanding is the essence of love.”
Thich Nhat Hanh
“The third element of love is mudita, joy. True love always brings joy to ourselves and to the one we love. If our love does not bring joy to both of us, it is not true love.” ― Thich Nhat Hanh,
Dear Friends,
I hope this finds you enjoying this day and deepening your understanding and love for each other.  In this time of divisiveness it is lovely to celebrate true  love. Love is a practice. More than flowers or candy or cards....it is a wonderful time to let others know you love them. Practice deep listening and mindful speech...it's much sweeter than candy!
This is just a reminder that there will be a gathering tomorrow evening at the West home (directions below) at 6 PM. there will be sitting meditation, walking meditation and sharing the teachings from Thay's book the Miracle of Mindfulness. It should be lovely, I hope you will be able to be there.
I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers, cards and luscious food. It has been a bit of a rocky recovery, but your love and care have been deeply appreciated. Please keep up the good work!
Reminder - There will be a Day of Mindfulness in Franklin, MA on March 10. I hope that you will be able to join us. all the information and registration forms are available at joannefriday.com/calendar
Also a reminder that if you would like to be a part of the Sangha google group, so that you can communicate with other Sangha members, you can contact Cindy at

And here are some Valentine hugs for you....Enjoy!
With true love and deep gratitude for all of you,

We live about 2 miles from URI.  From rt 138, go north onto Old North Rd.  (across the street from  big sign ““Kingston Hill Store  Books  Used and Rare””.  Also, just a smidge west of the 138/108 traffic light).  Old North Rd starts off as a one way, continues on as a two way street, and finally ends as a T.  You will see our corner property from there.  Go left at the T (Old North Rd meets Stoneyfort Rd), and then a quick right onto Plantation Dr.  We are the first home on the right (2nd driveway is easiest).  Come on in the side door (porch/kitchen)!
