We are walking in the footsteps of a wonderful teacher with boundless gratitude....
I hope this finds you enjoying this bright summer day. I have been getting inundated with emails and news....so please excuse the length and read all of this.
First, we will be gathering this coming Sunday at our home at 725 Matunuck School House Rd, Wakefield, RI The Van Horn's are unable to host the 4th Sunday this month. We will enjoy sitting, walking (our construction is done...so outdoors weather permitting) I will offer a talk and we will share the Dharma. I hope you will be able to be with us. The following letter is from Denise Nguyen, Director of the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation.
There is very good news. The film, Walk With Me, about Plum Village and Thay is now being distributed. There are showings in three big cities and all of the Sanghas are being invited to help to widen the distribution...as well as enjoy the screening. I am sending this information from Denise Nguyen. There are some folks already signed up for the webinar....about how best to do this....if you are interested, all of the info is below.
At our last gathering, Ann G suggested that we might want to do this as part of our 25th anniversary celebration.... !!! If you have questions or would like to help Ann, she is at Amski1965@yahoo.com
From Denise: Dear Sangha,
Hopefully by now you've heard the wonderful news the "Walk With Me" documentary will begin its theatrical release in August in the United States (see email below). The moment has come to realize Thay's vision of turning cinemas into meditation halls.
For those of you who live in the three select cities (San Francisco, Boulder, and New York City) where the film will have its initial release, please help galvanize the community to sell out those screenings. For those who live in other cities, come learn at the free webinar on Saturday, July 22nd at 10am PT how you can bring the film to a local theater near you.
The box office numbers and your attendance at the webinar will help send a "clear and complete" message. The more we can demonstrate to the US film distributor and theaters there is a receptive and interested audience for the film, the more money and time will be invested to expand the reach of this film and thus Thay's teachings and practices.
I hope to see you at the webinar this Saturday!
With gratitude and smiles,
Denise True Moon Lamp

Bring "Walk With Me" to a Movie Theatre Near You
The moment has finally come!
“Walk With Me” officially opens to the public on August 11th at the Smith Rafael Film Center in San Francisco Bay Area where the film will run for a week. The following week, it will be released in New York City at The Rubin Museum on August 18th and in Boulder, Colorado at the Dairy Center for the Arts on August 18th. Tickets for these premieres will be available soon.
Excited about the release but worried that the film might not come to your town? If you are not in one of the three cities listed above, you’ll still have the opportunity to see Thay in movie theaters nationwide. Beginning on Tuesday September 12th, anyone will be able to host a screening of “Walk With Me” in their city.
Thanks to the Theatrical On Demand® pioneered by Gathr Films, you have the power to bring Thay’s teachings of healing and compassion to your local theater (available only for cinemas in USA).
Join the “Walk With Me” directors, Marc J. Francis and Max Pugh, Gathr Films, and the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation for a free webinar on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017 at 10:00am PST/ 1:00pm EST to learn more. We’ll give you an update about the film and show you concrete steps to ensure “Walk With Me” comes to your local community, no matter where you live in the USA. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and even watch an exclusive, never-before-seen video clip from the film.
This film is an invitation for a meditation. It is an experience, and the full meaning and value of this film can only be experienced in a high quality cinema with a big screen, great sound, and large audience. The more people in the room the better, as the collective energy creates an unforgettable experience for all who bear witness. Without these elements in place, the depth of the film would be lost.
This is why we are so passionate about the cinema experience. With your active participation in setting up “Walk With Me” screenings, the film could potentially play in hundreds of movie theaters, spreading the message of peace and interconnectedness across the nation.
More than ever, we need a film like this.

INFORMATION ABOUT JUDITH STEVENS....
As some of you already know, Judith Stevens, a beloved member and practitioner in our OI community as well as several sanghas, has been having great difficulties with her eyes. She is now dealing with serious eye infections, which are being treated with antibiotic eyedrops AND she is scheduled for surgery on July 20th to have a corneal transplant. She is, at the same time, also dealing with a number of other medical issues, including dizziness, which is hitting her quite hard right now.
Judith is requesting our support, especially through our prayers. Kindly keep Judith in your loving, healing prayers throughout this next month as she prepares for the eye surgery on July 20th and as she heals post surgery. Kindly pass this on in your sanghas for all those who would like to support her in whatever way feels best. And kindly forward this on to others, especially any religious/spiritual prayer groups you may know of.
