Dear Friends,

I hope you are well and happy and enjoying this cool summer day...

We will be gathering Sunday evening at our home at 725 Matunuck School House Rd. We are under construction, so you will have to excuse our appearance...and also be mindful! We will enjoy sitting/walking /sitting meditation, I will offer a short talk and we will share the Dharma. I hope you will be able to join us to spend a summer evening being joyfully together.

Practice Opportunities...

There is a Book Club being sponsored by the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation...which is a wonderful resource. One of my favorite books is "The Sun, My Heart" which was a follow up book to "The Miracle of Mindfulness" with teachings by Brother Phap Hai and questions for reflection. The present book that is being studied is "One Buddha is Not Enough" The first three chapters have been completed, the videos, questions for reflection and quotes are available at this link.... https://www.thichnhathanhfoundation.org/bookclub

There is a national conference of Governors taking place in Providence right now. This is a time to let them know that you care...if you are so inclined. There is information about a Climate Change rally that will happen Saturday from 12:15-1:30 below. Some from the Sangha will be there with the RI Community of Mindfulness banner...which can help folks gather. Ann G is offering to help with car going for those interested. info below or email amski1965@yahoo.com 401-529-7647

Remember you can communicate directly with the Sangha...sending prayer requests, announcements or other requests, and getting announcements about engaged practice opportunities..by signing up to be a part of the google group. Cindy oversees that list...so if you want to get connected, please contact Cindy at westnest5@verizon.net

Remember that no matter what, we must water some seeds of joy...one thing that does it for me is watching hummingbirds at our feeder....This whole planet is a miracle!!!! enjoy!

with much love and many hugs for you, Joanne

Saturday July 15th - 12:15pm - 1:30pm Rally for Action on Climate Change at Governors' Meeting Rhode Island Convention Center 1 Sabin St Providence, RI 02903 Map Calling all New Englanders concerned about the environment and climate change!

On July 15, over 30 U.S. governors will be meeting at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence. They're having a session on "Resiliency and Flood Prevention" that morning, and closing with a speech on innovation by Tesla/Solar City chairman Elon Musk that afternoon.

With the national media spotlight on Rhode Island and environmental issues, the people's voice needs to be heard, too.

Please join us for a peaceful rally outside the meeting venue to raise our voice: WE DEMAND URGENT ACTION TO REDUCE CARBON EMISSIONS. Governors must lead their states to:

* Plan an aggressive transition to 100% renewable energy by 2035; * Adopt carbon dividends to reward conservation; * Ban fracking and new fossil fuel infrastructure, including the power plant in northwestern RI and the liquefaction plant in Providence; * Support climate research, energy innovation, land preservation, and green jobs for a sustainable future.

Rally location: We'll meet at the corner of Sabin Street and Matthewson Street, across the street from the Rhode Island Convention Center. We have permission to use this location, and it is highly visible to the media, the participants and passers-by.

Rally time and schedule: We will gather at 12:15pm with a rally, speakers program and music from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.

Organizers: Climate Action RI

After communicating with Linda after receiving some information from Joanne, I replied to the Clear Heart Sangha Google group that we will be carpooling to the Climate March Rally tomorrow. Linda may bike, or drive, and I will drive. Linda, who knows Providence (I don't), though this was best.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Is anyone else planning to go?

I asked anyone interested from the Clear Heart Sangha to arrive at and be ready to leave Bell St by noon, and offered my phone number. I promised an update to the Google group in case anything changes.

I thought I would share this in case anyone else is interested in inviting their Sangha's Google group. I am happy also to send any updates as needed.

With love and a grateful bow, Ann Galkowski amski1965@yahoo.com 401-529-7647
