but to add color to my sunset sky.”

Dear Friends,
I hope you are all resting in the beauty of the world with an open heart.
This is a reminder that we will be gathering tomorrow evening at the UU Congregation of South County at the Lily Pads complex on North Road in Peace Dale at 6 PM. This is from Clare.... we will continue with our reading from Thich Nhat Hanh's book Creating True Peace. It is such a gift to have the opportunity to recite the five mindfulness trainings, share the dharma, and be among a supportive and loving community. All are welcome!
It would also be lovely if you could join us for a Day of Mindfulness on March 25 in Franklin, MA.

With all that is going on in the world... I know that many of us feel the need to escape and watch puppy videos, and as you know, I am a great proponent of watering seeds of joy...but as you also know, we are instructed in our mindfulness trainings that as a spiritual community we must take a stand against injustice. I am including the numbers for THE FOLLOWING BILLS WHICH HAVE ALREADY BEEN INTRODUCED...to Terminate EPA, Repeal ACA, Defund Planned Parenthood, etc....and just this morning Homeland Security proposed increasing detention centers for women and children and are considering separating the children from their mothers...   http://www.reuters.com/article/usa-immigration-children-idUSL2N1GG1PY which in my opinion is obscene. If we looked deeply at the long term consequences of our actions, we would see that we are watering the seeds  for more anger, hatred and violence to be generated and more terrorists, more gangs and more hate crimes to manifest. We need to say no. If you are interested in any of these issues, please call your representatives - their numbers are available at https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials
