“Summer afternoon—summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.” ― Henry James

“Green was the silence, wet was the light, the month of June trembled like a butterfly.” ― Pablo Neruda

“It was June, and the world smelled of roses. The sunshine was like powdered gold over the grassy hillside.” ― Maud Hart Lovelace

Dear Friends,

I hope you are all well and happy and enjoying these most glorious days of June also!

This is just a reminder that there will be a gathering at the West home this Sunday evening at 6 PM (directions below. There will be sitting meditation/walking meditation  in their beautiful gardens and sitting meditation, followed by sharing the next section of "The Mindfulness Survival Kit" and sharing the Dharma. I hope you will be able to be there.

I just received word that the Cape Retreat was open for registration four days ago....and I just got an email a few minutes ago saying they have only 4 spaces left! So if that is something you would like to do, please go to joannefriday.com/calendar and send your registration in ASAP!

This was the notice sent by the registrar.....

Dear Friends,  The Cape Sangha is again offering a weekend retreat, in noble silence, with our Beloved Dharma Teacher Joanne Friday.   The dates are Thursday, 15th September through Sunday, 18th September, 2016.

Due to some changes at the Inn we now have less space and therefore can accommodate 40 residents and 5 commuters. It's a lovely gathering.

Save the Date!!!! The RI community of Mindfulness Annual Sangha Picnic will be happening on Sept 10 at Colt State Park. I hope you will be able to be with us.

Remember that tomorrow is the Generations Sangha at Westminster  We meet the second Saturday of the month.  It is a Sangha for all ages...we meet from 10-11:30...with snacks and fellowship from 11:30-12 for those who can stay. We enjoy singing, a program for the children and a meeting for the adults and sharing the Dharma and our joy. I hope you will come join us.

For a wonderful video on interbeing go to

with much love and lots of joy for you, Joanne

We live about 2 miles from URI.  From rt 138, go north onto Old North Rd.  (across the street from  big sign ““Kingston Hill Store  Books  Used and Rare””.  Also, just a smidge west of the 138/108 traffic light).  Old North Rd starts off as a one way, continues on as a two way street, and finally ends as a T.  You will see our corner property from there.  Go left at the T (Old North Rd meets Stoneyfort Rd), and then a quick right onto Plantation Dr.  We are the first home on the right (2nd driveway is easiest).  Come on in the side door (porch/kitchen)!
