3-6-16 Sangha Tonight

IMG_1252“It is true that we are called to create a better world. But we are first of all called to a more immediate and exalted task: that of creating our own lives.”- Thomas Merton

"The beginning of love is the will to let those we love be perfectly themselves, the resolution not to twist them to fit our own image. If in loving them we do not love what they are, but only their potential likeness to ourselves, then we do not love them: we only love the reflection of ourselves we find in them” ― Thomas Merton - "No Man Is and Island"

"You must love in such a way that the person you love feels free." Thich Nhat Hanh

Dear Friends,

I hope you are well and enjoying this bright morning. I wanted to thank all of you who were able to be with us for the Day of Mindfulness in Franklin, MA yesterday. It was beautiful to be with so many sweet beings and in the energy of so much love. By the quotes above, you can see that I was inspired? (You can also see why Thomas Merton and Thay were such good friends!)

We can continue to expand our capacity to love one another even more tonight. I hope you can join us...

This from Clare.... Sunday we will meet at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of South County at the Lily Pads Complex  in Peace Dale at 6 for sangha and we are working with Thay's book, creating true peace. We are on the second chapter, turning arrows into flowers. This is a workbook with very specific practices for people to try. We will also be reciting the five mindfulness trainings. It is such a gift to be together and support each other. I am leaving soon for a training so thank all of those who are able to attend today's day of mindfulness. We all benefit!

Love, Clare

Just a reminder.... If you want to join us for the Aldersgate Retreat   - May 20-24....you can register and get all the info at joannefriday.com/calendar.
