Life is Bursting with Miracles!

“Around us, life bursts with miracles--a glass of water, a ray of sunshine, a leaf, a caterpillar, a flower, laughter, raindrops. If you live in awareness, it is easy to see miracles everywhere. Each human being is a multiplicity of miracles. Eyes that see thousands of colors, shapes, and forms; ears that hear a bee flying or a thunderclap; a brain that ponders a speck of dust as easily as the entire cosmos; a heart that beats in rhythm with the heartbeat of all beings. When we are tired and feel discouraged by life's daily struggles, we may not notice these miracles, but they are always there.” ― Thích Nhất Hạnh

Dear Friends,

I hope you are well and are seeing miracles everywhere!

Cindy is kind enough to host our sangha gathering this coming Sunday evening at 6 PM at her home. (directions below). There will be sitting/walking/sitting meditation and the focus of the Dharma sharing will be Thich Nhat Hanh's book, Reconciliation. I hope you will be able to come.We are hearing rumblings of another storm from Sunday into Monday. I talked with Cindy about snow plans...she said that she will be there and anyone who feels that it will be safe for them to come are welcome.

Thank you, Cindy for also creating a list serve for the Sangha ...This is a great way for sangha members to communicate directly with each other ...if you would like to be a part of it, please contact Cindy at westnest5@verizon.net

Our friends from the Path of Peace Sangha in Franklin, MA are offering another Day of Mindfulness on March 7 on the topic of fear and cultivating fearlessness. Fear is at the root of most of our suffering...so it is truly beneficial to develop practices to help to transform it.  I have included the information and registration information below. I hope you will be able to be with us.

Please remember that the registration for the Aldersgate Retreat is now open.Below, I am including the invitation from the planning team (who have been doing a wonderful job!) The info and registration forms are also available at joannefriday.com

So, once again, we have lots of opportunities to practice...I hope you will be able to be with us for some of these...in the meantime, for your pure pleasure... a delightful demonstration of stone balancing, like we witness in Narragansett every summer....

We live about 2 miles from URI.  From rt 138, go north onto Old North Rd.  (across the street from  big sign ““Kingston Hill Store  Books  Used and Rare””.  Also, just a smidge west of the 138/108 traffic light).  Old North Rd starts off as a one way, continues on as a two way street, and finally ends as a T.  You will see our corner property from there.  Go left at the T (Old North Rd meets Stoneyfort Rd), and then a quick right onto Plantation Dr.  We are the first home on the right (2nd driveway is easiest).  Come on in the side door (porch/kitchen)!
