"I have arrived, I am home" is the shortest Dharma Talk I have ever given. "I have arrived, I am home" means "I don't want to run anymore." You need that insight in order to be truly established in the here and now, and to embrace life with all its wonders.
Thich Nhat Hanh
I hope you are well and enjoying these bright fall days and embracing life with all its wonders.
This is a reminder that we will be gathering at our home tomorrow at 3 PM for a vegetarian Thanksgiving potluck. If you are moved to, please bring songs, music, poems, etc, to share. If you are able to join us for dinner please RSVP so we can arrange the space and set up.
We will have our regular mid month gathering immediately following at 6 PM. We will offer a ceremony for the sick for Thay, I will give a brief talk and we will share the Dharma. I hope you will be able to be with us.
PRAYER REQUESTS Please continue to keep Thay in your prayers and meditations. There have not been more updates since my last mailing. I will keep you updated as more news arrives. They did send out an announcement that he is receiving no visitors at the hospital. There is a beautiful clip from a talk he gave on Fear of Death on Youtube It is only a couple of minutes long but says a great deal you can find it at.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54aRrJWl_PI
Please also send lots of love to our dear friends Sue and Roger Morgan. Their beautiful grandson, Orion, died at age 16 on Monday. He was an extraordinary young man. Please hold him and Sue and Roger and his whole family in your hearts. Here is the beautiful photo and note that Sue posted. You can send love to her at email@example.com.
"What a blessing to share 16 years with this boy. Thank you all for your messages; they mean so much. Hug your loved ones and tell them how much you love them."
Also a reminder to SAVE THE DATE! The RI Community of Mindfulness is planning another retreat at Camp Aldersgate for this spring from May 15-19. If you have suggestions for a topic for the focus of our retreat please send them to Ann M at firstname.lastname@example.org I understand that I made a typo in Ann's address the last time and all of your good ideas were getting bounced back. I apologize. Please don't be discouraged and try again!
I do hope you can be with us tomorrow. with much love, many hugs and the deep peace of a crisp fall night for you, Joanne
