7-5-14 Sangha Update

We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality,
tied in a single garment of destiny.
Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving.
A human being is part of a whole, called by us the "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest -a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us.
Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
Only a life lived for others is worth living.
--Albert Einstein

Dear Friends,

I hope you are well and happy and enjoying our interdependence!
This is just a brief reminder that there will be a gathering tomorrow evening at 6 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Congregtion of South County at the Lily Pads on North Rd. in Peace Dale.
This from Clare..... the first sangha of the month will meet at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of South County's space at Lily Pads in Wakefield. There will be sitting meditation and Renee will be facilitating the dharma discussion which is on chapter 18: The Three Dharma Seals in the book, The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching. The sangha gathering will be a continuation of the celebration of Interdependence! The sangha begins at  6 PM and if you have any questions, please contact Clare Sartori at 401-741-6846.
I received a notification from the organizers of the Cape Sangha Retreat and the September retreat is now full.
A reminder for all of you who might be interested in facilitating Sangha gatherings:  There will be a Half Day of Mindfulness at the Bell Street Chapel on Saturday July 19 from 10-2, focusing on facilitation for Sangha gatherings, and dharma sharing. This is an important meeting for all of those who presently facilitate or who would like to facilitate in the future to attend...It is important that we deepen our practice together. Most of those who currently facilitate Sanghas have said they will be able to be there. We can share our experiences so we can all become more skillful in creating a safe container where we can cultivate a harmonious and loving community. I hope you will be able to be with us. Please bring a brown bag lunch.
I hope that you are enjoying every moment of your freedom on this glorious weekend.
with much love and deepest gratitude for interbeing with you,
