The Sangha is like a beautiful garden.
Each member, when nurtured blooms beautifully in his or her own way.
If you have a supportive sangha, it’s easy to nourish your bodhicitta, the seeds of enlightenment. If you don’t have anyone who understands you, who encourages you in the practice of the living dharma, your desire to practice may wither. Your sangha—family, friends, and copractitioners—is the soil, and you are the seed. No matter how vigorous the seed is, if the soil does not provide nourishment, your seed will die. A good sangha is crucial for the practice. Please find a good sangha or help create one.

The Buddha yet to be born will not be an individual, it will be the enlightened community.

I hope this finds you all well and happy and enjoying this bright beautiful day.
This is to let you know that there is a wonderful opportunity to be with the Sangha tomorrow evening at the home of Cindy and John West.
(directions below) There will be sitting/walking meditation and Cindy will facilitate the Dharma sharing. It is a wonderful time to be able to practice together. I hope you will be able to attend.
I am also so sorry to have to ask for your prayers for the grandson of our dear friends Sue and Roger Morgan….this from Sue…
Just a quick update. The results on the second biopsy of Orion's bone marrow sample came back showing more leukemia than ever before. The "mild" chemo they gave him during the first two weeks of this admission had no effect. As I've said before, they used the milder regimen because of damage to his heart caused by the treatment during his first admission.
Because he has so much leukemia in his system, the medical team is saying they cannot do the bone marrow transplant. If they don't do the transplant, the leukemia will continue to progress. Being between a rock and a hard place, they've begun a more aggressive form of chemo ( at the risk of further compromising his heart) with the hope that it will diminish the leukemia at least enough for them to do the transplant.
Orion needs all the prayers and positive intentions everyone can muster. We've reinstituted the 8 P.M. prayer/intention circle and welcome you to invite everyone you think might be willing to join. We simply set an alarm for 8 P.M. at which time we pray/envision/imagine Orion's complete healing. .
Wish I had better news to report. I'll be with Kai, Bo and Ivie tonight and with Orion the rest of the weekend.
Love you all,
Please hold them all in your prayers and in your heart each day at 8 ...and.…you can send your love in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
A reminder for all of you who presently facilitate or might be interested in facilitating Sangha gatherings: There will be a Half Day of Mindfulness at the Bell Street Chapel on Saturday July 19 from 10-2, focusing on facilitation for Sangha gatherings, and dharma sharing. This is an important meeting for all of those who presently facilitate or who would like to facilitate in the future to attend…It is important that we deepen our practice together. Most of those who currently facilitate Sanghas have said they will be able to be there. We can share our experiences so we can all become more skillful in creating a safe container where we can cultivate a harmonious and loving community. I hope you will be able to be with us. Please bring a brown bag lunch.
This will be held at the time that our monthly OI/Aspirant gathering normally happens. I hope that all of the OI and aspirants will be able to be with us. There will be a Sangha meeting of the Radiant Bell Sangha immediately before, from 8 to 9:45 AM. You are all welcome to attend that gathering and make it a full Day of Mindfulness if you like!
SAVE THE DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Mind Tamers are once again organizing a picnic for the entire Community of Mindfulness.Thank you Mind Tamers!

DIRECTIONS TO THE WEST HOME…
We live about 2 miles from URI. From rt 138, go north onto Old North Rd. (across the street from big sign ““Kingston Hill Store Books Used and Rare””. Also, just a smidge west of the 138/108 traffic light). Old North Rd starts off as a one way, continues on as a two way street, and finally ends as a T. You will see our corner property from there. Go left at the T (Old North Rd meets Stoneyfort Rd), and then a quick right onto Plantation Dr. We are the first home on the right (2nd driveway is easiest). Come on in the side door (porch/kitchen)!
