Pete Seeger's Banjo
He was the embodiment of
Love in Action for Social Change
Hatred never ceases by hatred,
but by love alone is healed.
This is an ancient and eternal law.
How -to Instructions from Pete Seeger at 93!

Dear Friends,

Happy Lunar New Year and Ground Hog Day! I hope this finds you well and happy and loving everyone.
This week Pete Seeger died. He was another of my heroes. A humble, kind, courageous and fierce organizer and  activist for social justice, human dignity and our planet. A sweet being who touched countless lives. May all whom he touched  be beautiful continuations of his wonderful spirit and carry on his work.  He practiced so beautifully what Thay teaches. Thay tells us that it is impossible to love your enemies…because once you love them, they are no longer your enemy! That was  clearly demonstrated by Pete.  I am including a link to a PBS special about his extraordinary life, if you want to be inspired!
In the meantime, we can cultivate all of these qualities and enjoy our community tomorrow evening. We will be gathering  Sunday at 6 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of South County on North Rd in Peace Dale. We will have a meditation and Linda Lamont will share  about the chapter on "Right Action" from the "Heart of the Buddha's Teaching" We will share the Dharma and recite the Five Mindfulness Trainings. I hope you will be able to be with us.
THERE WILL NOT BE A SECOND SUNDAY GATHERING. Cindy is unable to host us this month…so we will resume that meeting in March.
There will be a gathering at our home on the third Sunday, the 16th…at 6 PM.
Thank you to all of you who were able to join us in Franklin for the Day of Mindfulness last Saturday. It was wonderful to be able to practice with the larger Sangha.with our friends from MA, CT and Maine along with our RI Sanghas.what a delight! We will have another opportunity to do just that thanks to the RI Community of  Mindfulness planning team who have been doing a beautiful job of planning a….

I have had to be away quite a bit and have fallen behind in my correspondence ( along with getting a notice from g-mail that some of my mail may have been deleted by mistake????) . I apologize for the delay of this email, as well as getting our RICOM Planning meeting organized…I will probably not be able to be doing quite as much as I have been doing and I deeply appreciate all of you who are willing to help care for the sanghas. I will create a doodle and send it to all who have voiced an interest in participating. If you are interested, please let me know  as soon as you can so I can add you to the list.
I hope you will be able to be with us for one or all of the above gatherings … and in the meantime, I hope you are enjoying this moment.
with much love, many hugs and the happiness of sharing the Path in this lifetime,
