― Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace
don't blame the lettuce. You look for reasons it is not
doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or
less sun. You never blame the lettuce. Yet if we have
problems with our friends or family, we blame the other
person. But if we know how to take care of them, they will
grow well, like the lettuce. Blaming has no positive
effect at all, nor does trying to persuade using reason
and argument. That is my experience. No blame, no
reasoning, no argument, just understanding. If you
understand, and you show that you understand, you can
love, and the situation will change”

“We are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness.”
I hope you are well, happy, awakening from the illusion of separateness and enjoying this lovely summer evening.
There will be a gathering this Sunday evening at 6 PM at Cindy West's home (directions are below). We will have sitting/walking/sitting meditation, Cindy will facilitate the discussion as we continue to look at Thay's book on "Fear", and we will enjoy sharing the Dharma. I hope that you will be able to be with us.
There will be a gathering at 10 AM tomorrow morning at Westminster Unitarian Church for the Generations Sangha for all ages. I hope that you will be able to be with us for that also and support this fledgling Sangha. We will have a sharing for the adults, a children's program, some songs and enjoying the outdoors. After we end at 11:30 there will be time for fellowship and refreshments.
with much love, many hugs and a cool ocean breeze for you,
DIRECTIONS TO CINDY'S
We live about 2 miles from URI. From rt 138, go north onto Old North Rd. (across the street from big sign “Used Books, Old North Rd”. Also, just a smidge west of the 138/108 traffic light). Old North Rd starts off as a one way, continues on as a two way street, and finally ends as a T. You will see our corner property from there. Go left at the T (Old North Rd meets Stoneyfort Rd), and then a quick right onto Plantation Dr. We are the first home on the right (2nd driveway is easiest). Come on in the side door (porch/kitchen)!
