Living in a Winter Wonderland

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”

― Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

Dear Friends,

I hope you are well and happy and enjoying this bright winter day.

We will be meeting tomorrow evening at St. Matthew's Church in West Barrington at 6:30 PM. We will have our sitting/walking/sitting meditation, I will be sharing some of the teachings from the winter retreat, and we enjoy sharing the Dharma. I hope you will be able to be with us.

In the meantime, if you would like to follow the Winter Retreat teachings that Thay is offering, please go to tnhaudio.org . . . the Deer Park teachings on the Ten Gates can be accessed at deerparkmonastery.org. Click on "Teachings," then click on "Ten Gates."

Also, Thay will be offering retreats in the U.S. this coming summer. If you would like to attend, early registration is recommended as they fill up quickly . . . and registration is due to open this week . . . so check it out at tnhtour.org.

Also, if you think that Buddhists have no sense of humor . . . or if you would like to get a taste of what goes on at our retreats . . . you might like to go to YouTube, and type in "Sangha Style," then click on the video created by Jungwon Kim.

with much love, many hugs and the comfort of hot cocoa on a cold day for you, Joanne
