I've looked at clouds from both sides now . . . and will be leaving on a jet plane soon!
“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.” ― Thich Nhat Hanh
“We are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness.” ― Thich Nhat Hanh
I hope you are well and happy, enjoying this summertime, and feeling deeply connected with all that is.
I just wanted to remind you that there will be a Sangha gathering tomorrow evening at Carol Robinson’s at 6 PM at 10 Wheatfield Cove Road in the Harbor Island section of Narragansett. There will be sitting, walking on the waterfront, and a talk and sharing. It should be heavenly! I hope you will be able to enjoy every minute!
Mind Tamers will be meeting on Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM at St. Matthew’s Church in West Barrington. We will have sitting/walking/sitting, a short talk, and sharing. It will be a delight to be able to be with all of you again.
I apologize for the brevity of this. I have been in Pittsburgh with my father for the last week, and where he lives, I have no access to computers and no reception for my phone. So deepest apologies for my unresponsiveness. I am due to be back in Rhode Island late Monday. I have missed you all and will do my best to get caught up with everything and everybody when I return. Right now I am at a Wi-Fi hotspot and have limited time!
Please continue to hold Dania Whitaker in your prayers and hearts. She had her clavicle operated on and has been in lots of pain.
Until we meet again, please remember to enjoy all of the wonders of life, and I will be doing my best to do the same!
With much love, many hugs, and the miracle of a cloud for you, Joanne

Sitting in an Autumn Breeze Led by Joanne Friday
This year in response to last year’s requests, the retreat will be 4 days and 3 nights, September 6–9, 2012.
The retreat will include sitting meditation, walking meditation, Dharma talks, and mindful Dharma discussion with Joanne Friday. Most of the retreat will be experienced in noble silence. Three vegetarian meals a day will be enjoyed in silence. Once your registration is received, more information will be sent regarding what to bring and daily activities. Retreatants may arrive as early as 3:00 PM on September 6 and no later than 5:00 PM. First activity is at 5:30 PM.
Craigville Conference Center, located on a bluff overlooking Nantucket Sound and Craigville Beach, is a compound of rustic cedar shingled buildings dating back to the early 1900s. The two-story building called The Inn will be the location for the retreat; meals will be shared in its lower level. Rooms will be assigned as registrations are received. Register early to confirm a space. Please note we cannot guarantee single rooms.
We are very fortunate that Joanne Friday has again agreed to lead us all towards a deeper understanding of what our meditation practice can be.
