I hope you all have weathered the storm and are enjoying this brand new year!
We will be gathering tomorrow evening at 6:30 at St. Matthew’s Church in West Barrington. We will have our usual sitting/walking/sitting. I will offer a short talk about using our practice to transform our habits of mind that cause us suffering so we can enjoy many more happy moments in our new year and help numberless beings!!. We will then have a sharing and enjoy being together. I hope that you will be able to be with us.
Good News!!!! Our friend Don is doing much better. I saw him Friday and for the first time that morning he had been able to walk with only a cane! That is better than he was doing before his surgery! If you would like to call, visit or send a note his phone number is 401-556-2945. His mailing address is 1014 Hope St., Apt. T-3, Bristol, RI 02809. Until Wednesday he will still be at Silver Creek Manor, 7 Creek Lane, Bristol.
Our own Jennifer is going to be showing her very compelling work in an exhibit at the Wheeler School...she has invited all of us to the opening which will be February 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. There is a lovely write up about the artists and the show at http://chazangallery.org/surfacing.asp
Many of you have asked me to recommend readings. I have begun to create a list and our web Bodhisattvas (Ellen and Shana) have posted it at joannefriday.com....a deep bow to them!
I hope we will all be able to be together tomorrow evening and until then, I hope you will enjoy every minute!
with much love, many hugs and the happiness of beginning anew with all of you, Joanne
