Happy New Year!

…to you and all of your non-self elements!

Dear Friends,

I hope you are well and happy as we complete yet another trip around the sun together. It has been a total delight to be a fellow traveler.

I understand that Thay gave a beautiful New Year talk at Plum Village...it should become available at pvom.org. Also, from Plum Village, I am including a New Year Prayer to Mother Earth.

Tonight we will have our annual New Year Ceremony at 6 p.m. at our home. We will come together to celebrate our interbeing, to honor our ancestors — both spiritual and blood — who are alive in us and to begin again. Please bring photos of your ancestors for the altar. We will also have a bell meditation and ring in the New Year. Please bring a bell and any extras you have to share. It will be wonderful to be able to Begin Anew together.

I am also including information on an upcoming DOM that Tom Duva and Mike Geres will be offering in Bolton CT on January 14.

TIME SENSITIVE! The movie, “I Am,” which I spoke about last spring, will be shown for the first time today on the Oprah Winfrey Network at 12 noon. I thought that it was a wonderful teaching on interbeing. There are terrific interviews with folks like Desmond Tutu....There is a half hour interview with the film maker, Tom Shadyac...then the film itself. Tom had a brain injury which led to a series of life-changing insights....( I could relate!) I hope you will be able to watch. Enjoy!!!!!

http://www.oprah.com/own-supersoulsunday/blogs/Breaking-News-I-Am-Makes-Its-Network-Premiere-on-Super-Soul-Sunday “I AM is an utterly engaging and entertaining non-fiction film that poses two practical and provocative questions: what’s wrong with our world, and what can we do to make it better? The filmmaker behind the inquiry is Tom Shadyac, one of Hollywood’s leading comedy practitioners and the creative force behind such blockbusters as “Ace Ventura,” “Liar Liar,” “The Nutty Professor,” and “Bruce Almighty.” However, in I AM, Shadyac steps in front of the camera to recount what happened to him after a cycling accident left him incapacitated, possibly for good. Though he ultimately recovered, he emerged with a new sense of purpose, determined to share his own awakening to his prior life of excess and greed, and to investigate how he as an individual, and we as a race, could improve the way we live and walk in the world.”  http://www.iamthedoc.com/thefilm/

Enjoy! and in the meantime, I will be sending you all best wishes for every possible blessing this new year.

May all of us wake up to our true nature of interbeing, May all of us deepen our practice and our capacity to love and take good care of ourselves and each other and our planet.

with much love and the joy and gratitude for traveling the Path and interbeing with all of you, Joanne
