I hold you close to me, I release you to be so free, Because I am in you, and you are in me. —Plum Village song
I hope you are well and happy and enjoying this moonlit night.
Clear Heart Update This is a reminder that we will be meeting November 6 at 6 p.m. at the Unitarian Church at the Lily Pads Office complex in Peace Dale. I hope you can join us. There will be silent sitting, the recitation of the five mindfulness trainings, Clare will facilitate the Dharma sharing. I will also offer a guided meditation for our dear Sangha sister Elsa, who is in the final stages of dying. The way she has faced death and the depth of her practice has been a real inspiration to all of her caregivers. Please hold her and her wonderful family in your prayers and in your hearts as they go through this transition.
Mind Tamers Update This is a reminder that we will be meeting November 8 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Church in West Barrington. We will have our sitting/walking/sitting. The topic will be developing our compassion and experience of interbeing. I will give a short talk on a sutra to follow up on our study of the paramitas and we will enjoy Dharma sharing. I hope that you will be able to be with us.
New: Generations Sangha! Next Saturday, the November 12 at 10 a.m. to 12 noon...there will be the first meeting of the Generations Sangha. This is something we have been hoping would evolve for some time...a sangha for all ages. The meeting will be at the Fellowship Hall of the Westminster Unitarian Church on Kenyon Avenue in East Greenwich. A deep bow to all of those who have been instrumental in creating conditions for this to manifest. We had a Day of Mindfulness for all ages last June and it was a pure delight! We had folks attend who ranged in age from 18 months to 95 years old!
The organizers are also looking for volunteers to help with the children’s program....people who enjoy being with sweet children and have experience with our practice. There will be lots of support in creating projects for the children and a tentative schedule for the day can be found at the website below. If you are willing to help out please contact Eric....even if you cannot attend the first meeting but would like to help in the future, please forward your contact information to him...and thank you in advance for supporting this wonderful project.
contact Eric at email@example.com or go to the website: http://sites.google.com/site/generationssangha/ with much love and the deep peace of sweet dreams in a silent night for you, Joanne
