Mind Tamers Update

Dear friends,

I hope you are well and happy and enjoying peace this morning.

We will be gathering this evening at 6:30 at St. Matthew’s Chuch in West Barrington. We will have sitting/walking/sitting meditation…I will give a short talk about the paramitas and engaged practice and we will have time for Dharma sharing. I hope that you will be able to be with us. It is always a delight to be able to practice together.

The monastics are going to be coming to Brown University as part of the Wake Up Movement…for young adults ages 17-35…If you are of that age or have friends who are and who might like to join in please tell them about it. All the information is available at http://us.wkup.org/events/brown

Ann Moore is helping to organize a five-day retreat for all of us for this coming May. It will be a wonderful opportunity for all of us to practice together for an extended period of time. I hope you will be able to set the time aside and be with us. The information and contact info is below.

This is also a reminder that I have been invited to offer Days of Mindfulness in Brunswick Maine on Oct. 29. In West Hartford, CT on Nov 5. In New York City at Riverside Church on Nov. 19. All of the info is available at joannefriday.com If you or your friends will be in the area, I hope that you will join us.

Engaged Practice: If you are in support of the Occupy Movement, the folks in Providence at Burnside Park are looking for support…food, camping equipment etc. There are wonderful workshops on various issues that need attention…public transportation, public libraries…etc, etc, etc. You can find out how to get involved and/or how to help at  http://www.occupyprovidence.com/

I hope that we can all be together this evening.

With much love and the joy of interbeing with all of you,
